Porch Restoration
The homeowner of this Church Hill Victorian has undertaken much of their own renovation work, but was not comfortable rebuilding the fragile front porch. Reveal removed the termite- and age-damaged portions of the structure, arranged for a mason to rebuild necessary brickwork, and then framed and floored the porch with tongue & groove fir to completely renew this dilapidated porch.
The trickiest piece was the repair and straightneing of the four columns. The solid and integral porch columns were heavily damaged at the base, and several had become crooked over the past century. Rebuilding the bases and then gently aligning the columns over several days put everything right again.
